The Resort
HOST VILLAGES ARC 1950 & 2000
For European Gay Ski Week 2020, we are going back to Les Arcs.
Les Arcs is made up of four mountain resorts and the town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice down the valley. Among these five locations, Arc 1950 ‘Le Village’ and Arc 2000 are interconnected with a free bubble lift.
These two ‘pedestrian only’ villages can, from the point of view of getting around, be considered one village and they are our home for EGSW 2019.
EVERYTHING CLOSE-BY
Everything, the shops, the restaurants and all our events, regardless of which village they will be taking place in, are easily within walking distance of each other and all our accommodation.
Arc 1950 ‘Le Village’ is nestled amongst the trees directly below Arc 2000 and the two villages are connected by a short pedestrian cabriolet, it takes less than two minutes to ride between the top and bottom stations. During our week the Cabriolet hours will be extended and run from 07.00 through to 03.00. For the night birds amongst you, we will have a shuttle bus which runs between the two villages from 03.00 to 05.00.
SHOPS, RESTAURANTS, BARS, ENTERTAINMENT…
The walkways of our host villages are lined with bars, cafes and eateries including Italian, Mexican, French, Savoyarde, crêperie, and American restaurants. Amongst the shops you’ll find everything from luxury shops selling the latest skiwear to rustic little boulangeries selling your warm morning croissants and every Thursday there is a market selling local produce under the clock tower in Arc 1950 ‘Le Village’.
Other facilities include a Cinema, an Ice Rink, Ten Pin Bowling, a variety of Wine Bars, Lounge Bars, Pubs and two Night Clubs.

A FIVE STAR RESORT
Arc 1950 Le Village is the most recent addition to Les Arcs and the newest resort in the Alps. It is a five star alpine village developed by Canadian developer Intrawest who also developed both Whistler and Mont Tremblant in Canada. The architecture of ‘Le Village’ is striking, it is a tranquil, calm, atmospheric place lavishly fitted out and heavily influenced by the local Alpine history and architecture.
It was completed just 7 years ago in 2012 with the opening of a 1,000 m² Deep Nature Spa. The 5 star village is completely “ski in–ski out" and the apartments have by far the highest standard and comfort level in Les Arcs, even compared to the vast majority of the French ski resorts.

THE ULTIMATE HIGH MOUNTAIN PLAYGROUND
Arc 2000 is situated in a hollow near the bottom of the 3226m Aiguille Rouge,
Life in Arc 2000 revolves around Place Olympic. So named as it was a central location for the 1992 Winter Olympics. The speed skiing run is still there, just above the village and open to the more adventurous amongst you.
Arc 2000 has the specificity of a unique “avant-garde" modernist architecture, futuristic large blocks with swooping roof lines labelled as “heritage of the 20th century”. In recent years there has been considerable redevelopment with many 4 and 5 star chalet style residences. Most recently with the arrival of the fabulous 5 star Taj I Mar Hotel, Arc 2000’s reputation has been cemented as a ‘destination’ resort.
